New policy to intake Australian Permanent migrants

Australia's permanent migration intake could drop by more than 10,000 people this year due to two major changes introduced by the Federal Government. The regional and global talent visas represent almost 30,000 permanent visas in the Department of Home Affairs' planning levels. You'll probably find it harder to find work in Brisbane than Melbourne. Our population is less than half that of Melbourne and there are far fewer job opportunities. Queensland has many huge mines that are part of the mining boom but that's all a long way north and Brisbane gets very little direct benefit.
