New requirements to travel to Europe

ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. It is an electronic travel authorization required for travelers from visa-exempt countries who wish to visit the Schengen Area for short stays (up to 90 days within a 180-day period) for purposes such as tourism, business, or transit.

Here are the key details about ETIAS:

1. Who Needs It?

Travelers from countries that do not require a visa to enter the Schengen Area will need to apply for ETIAS before their trip.

2. Purpose:

It aims to enhance security by pre-screening travelers before they enter Schengen countries.

3. How to Apply:

The application is online and typically takes a few minutes. You’ll need a valid passport, email address, and a credit/debit card to pay the fee (usually around €7 for adults).

4. Validity:

Once approved, ETIAS is valid for up to 3 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

5. When Will It Be Required?

ETIAS is expected to become mandatory in 2025 for travelers entering Schengen countries.

If you’re planning to travel to Europe (like your upcoming trip to Berlin), you’ll likely need ETIAS if your country is visa-exempt. Let me know if you need help with the application process!
